When a generation finishes, its card opens on the result screen. This is where you preview the clip, switch between versions, and decide what to do next: send it to the timeline, render it, edit it, or save it.
The top of the screen plays your generation live, right inside the panel. It loops so you can judge timing and motion before you commit to a render. This preview is free. Playing it, scrubbing it, and replaying it never costs credits.
While a generation is still working, the preview stays blurred and shows the current stage (for example «generating» or «checking layout»). Once it reaches «done», the finished clip appears in its place.
Below the preview is a row of buttons. Each one does something different:
Below the buttons, Renders lists every file rendered from this card, MP4 or MOV, each with an Insert button that puts it on the timeline. At the bottom of the screen, the tweak field («Tweak: “blue”, “slower”, “bigger”…») takes a change in plain words, and Butter Motion edits the clip. See Editing a generation.
Every time you tweak a generation, Butter Motion keeps the old result and adds the new one as a separate version. The pager under the header shows which one is open, for example «version 2 / 5».
Use the arrows to move between versions. Each version has its own preview, so you can compare an edit against the original and pick the one you like before rendering.
Deleting one version leaves the others alone. The panel confirms with «Delete this version? The other versions of this card stay.» Deleting a card that has a single version asks «Delete this generation and its file?» instead.
If a tweak or a customization fails on top of a finished result, your working clip is safe. The error shows up when you open the card and clears the moment you close it. Nothing is lost.
